Border Terrier, small but very lovable and cute dog breed
The Border Terrier is a small dog breed, and can be considered a breed of the terrier breed. This dog breed was originally trained to hunt animals like foxes. This kind of dog breeds needs daily exercise, to relieve stress and let your dog do their needs often enough. The physical aspect of the border terrier has great importance, because they were bred to keep up with the speed of a horse and foxes, that is why they have “long” legs and the small body to help them in the burrows of foxes. One useful thing this dogs have is that when men use foxhounds, they’re not small enough to do things that the border terrier can.
They are commonly identified by their characteristic otter shaped head. Their ears are shaped like V’s and fall towards their cheeks. The most common colors that you can see on this breed are grizzle, bluish, red. The tail is a bit short, thick at the base and tapering. They are usually 13 to 16 inches high and weigh 13 to 15.5 lb (6-7 kg), females are a little shorter and lighter.
The Border Terrier has a double coat( short, dense, soft undercoat and harsh, wiry weather and dirt resistant, outer coat). Brushing these dogs once every month is important to remove the dead hair on their outer coat. It’s common to see these dogs groomed with short hair, but long hair is also accepted.
